Route 05 · Chungcheongnam-do and Iksan
Baekje Antiquity Route
Gongju and Buyeo were the last two Baekje capitals. Iksan was meant to be the third. Seven stops covering fortresses, a temple site and the academy at Nonsan.
Taken in the published order the route covers about 114 km, and its two furthest stops sit 65 km apart. Both are straight-line figures, so real driving is longer.
It passes through four towns: Gongju, Nonsan, Buyeo, Iksan.
Magoksa Temple and Donamseowon appear on another route too, so each stamp fills a page on both.
The longest single hop is Magoksa Temple to Donamseowon at 39 km. The shortest is Naseong Fortress to Busosanseong Fortress, 2.9 km apart.
Grouped so that nearby stops share a day, it works out at roughly two days of driving.
Three of the seven stops charge admission. The rest are free to enter, though some sit inside parks that charge separately.
On four of the seven stops the stamp sits in a museum or information centre rather than at the heritage site, which matters if you turn up outside opening hours.
