Route 07 · Gangwon coast
Gwandong Pungryu Era Route
Six stops along the Gangwon coast and through the Odaesan and Seorak mountains. These are the views behind Jeong Cheol's Gwandongbyeolgok and the true-view landscape painting that followed it.
Taken in the published order the route covers about 115 km, and its two furthest stops sit 56 km apart. Both are straight-line figures, so real driving is longer.
It passes through four towns: Gangneung, Sokcho, Yangyang, Pyeongchang.
The longest single hop is Ojukheon House to Sinheungsa Temple at 56 km. The shortest is Gyeongpodae Pavilion to Seongyojang House, 0.6 km apart.
Grouped so that nearby stops share a day, it works out at roughly two days of driving.
Five of the six stops charge admission. The rest are free to enter, though some sit inside parks that charge separately.
On three of the six stops the stamp sits in a museum or information centre rather than at the heritage site, which matters if you turn up outside opening hours.
