What the campaign says about it
Located on the foothills of Yeogwisan Mountain in the south of Jindo, the birthplace of traditional Namdo art, the Jindo National Gugak Center was established to carry on and advance the traditional culture and arts of the Namdo region, and to systematically research, educate, and perform traditional music for the general public. The Jindo National Gugak Center hosts various permanent and planned performances at its Jinakdang Hall (meaning “the hall of precious sounds”), Dalbitmadang Hall (offers a great view of Yeogwisan Mountain and Gwiseong Harbor), and Byeolbitmadang Hall (open-air hall with clear views of the starry sky). Performances are held both inside and outside the Center. In particular, the “Visiting Gugak Center” program, which travels to parts of the community with poor access to culture and art programs, allows more people to experience and enjoy Gugak music. Moreover, the Center offers weekend cultural programs where you can watch performances, learn Gugak music, and explore Namdo culture.
