What the campaign says about it

The Tomb of King Suro in Gimhae is a designated historic site in Seosang-dong, Gimhae-si, Gyeongsangnam-do. King Suro ascended to the throne in 42 CE as the founder of Garakguk, and in 48 CE he married Princess Heo Hwang-ok of the State of Ayuta in India. Kim Suro is also known as the progenitor of the Gimhae Kim clan. Originally, the Tomb of King Suro in Gimhae only had a semi-hemispherical earthen mound, without any other ancillary installations. However, starting in the late Joseon Dynasty period, ancillary structures were built around the tomb, creating the compound that remains today. In 1580 (the 13th year of King Seonjo), Heo Yeop, Governor of the Yeongnam Province, decorated the tomb to its present form. Today, the compound has several buildings such as Sungseonjeon Hall, which enshrines the spirits of King Suro and his queen, as well as various buildings (e.g. Anhyanggak, Jeonsacheong, and Jegigo) and stone monuments (Shindobi, Gongjeokbi, etc.).
